Accompaniment Workshop From Million Minutes

Don’t miss your chance to take part in a workshop from Million Minutes in early February exploring ways to develop and support a culture of genuine accompaniment of young people. The workshop is being offered at different times on three dates, Wednesday 3, Tuesday 9 and Wednesday 10 February, so there are more opportunities to attend.

Supported by the Benedictines, the Jesuits in Britain, Synod Fruits and others, Million Minutes has embarked on a process called ‘Proximity’ to help everyone in the church, and especially those involved in youth ministry, to become the church for the young Pope Francis calls us to be, and accompaniment is an essential element of this.  So far, Million Minutes has conducted research into how those working with young people understand accompaniment, discovering a range of different approaches to be explored and developed on, and the workshop will begin to share that research and invite participants to offer their own ideas and experience.

The workshop will
– Enable you to explore the current findings of our research and process
– Invite you to share your own experience and examples of accompaniment
– Challenge us all to refine our accompaniment skills
– Generate ideas of how we can develop resources, training and pathways to equip others working with young people in Catholic contexts in the ‘art of         accompaniment’

It will include presentations from Susie Mullen (Impact Measurement Services and former Head of Data and Insight at CAFOD) who led on the research into how people understand accompaniment and David Wells (educator, international speaker and inspiring story teller) who has been helping the team to explore the vision underlying the call to accompany.
