Chant Resources
« on: November 30, 2011, 09:37:00 AM »

From time to time on this site, we talk about chant. In particular, the simple tones given in the Missal for the sung parts of the Mass.

During the Awesome Webinar last night with Jo Boyce and Mike Stanley they showed us a few good online resources, among which was an american site giving all the music (in sound files and pdfs) for all of the Missal settings.

It's worth a look. These things may not be uber-exciting, but they are the default Mass music, if you like, so learning them is important. Also, I can see them working well at a night Mass/ Taize sort of thing.

Anyway, here's the site...

Thanks for that - that's great.

There's more than I thought hiding in there in the new missal. On another thread there are more /chant choral type pieces I think, if that's what floats people's boats.
Prayer is the most fundamental form of Theology.
