Job Description

St. Francis Xavier is a parish of 3,300 families, with more than 400 teens registered in the parish, but with only about 50 who are active in our Life Teen youth ministry program. We are seeking a high-energy, creative, faith-filled, highly organized individual to lead our youth ministry.

• The Youth Minister in our parish will be expected to professionally coordinate, plan and lead our active youth ministry program.

• He or she must be capable of engaging teens, teen leaders, parents and adult team in weekly, year round liturgy, faith formation, catechesis and service to the parish and the community.

• He or she will plan and lead our annual retreat for teens, Catholic Youth Conference trip, Right to Life March, service opportunities in the community, and social activities for our teens.

• He or she must effectively lead the youth ministry program independently, as well as work as part of a team within the framework of our parish staff.

• He or she will must be capable of utilizing the technology needed for presentations, posting on the parish website, and/or social media to actively and effectively communicate with our teens.

St. Francis Xavier Parish was founded in 1860 and, 152 years later, has grown to serve 3,300 families in central Medina County, about 30 miles south of Cleveland and 20 miles west of Akron in Northeast Ohio. We have more than 60 active ministries and organizations, including a Parish Pastoral Council. We also have a parish school, with 480 students in grades K-8. St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church is a stewardship parish.
