Job Description

The EDGE Coordinator will be responsible for the catechesis of grades 5-6 in addition to the EDGE Ministry for 7th and 8th grade. The coordinator will be responsible for registration, lesson plans, catechist training, volunteer coordination and parent meetings. You will be working as a part of the Faith Formation/Youth Ministry Team and report to the Parish Faith Formation Director. The goal of this position is to meet the faith formation needs of the youth and their parents and to help the families form a strong Catholic identity.

We are looking for a “people person” who is self-motivated and who has a great love for passing on our Catholic faith to children. You must have a college degree in Catechetics, Theology, or in Education, experience is beneficial but not required. The candidate must have strong written and oral communication skills as well as solid technical skills including competence with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, and Publisher), parish databases and the internet. In addition, the successful candidate will be a fast learner capable of working independently, and a team player with excellent interpersonal skills.

St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church is a vibrant parish of 4,500 families located in a northern suburb of Houston, Texas called The Woodlands. Our Faith Formation/Youth Ministry Department serves over 1,600 children in their Religious Education and Sacramental Preparation.
