Job Description

Because I, the current DRE/YM, am entering a religious order, we are seeking an orthodox and well-formed Catholic to fill this 32-hour/week position. This position includes recruiting, coordinating & training of catechists and volunteers; teaching Religious Ed classes including Sacrament preparation (1st Reconciliation/Communion & Confirmation); leading Youth Group and after school programs; and actively participating in events offered by the Diocese. This position offers a lot of flexibility but is under the direct supervision of our parish priest.

Our goal is not to teach our students ABOUT BEING Catholic, but to teach them TO BE Catholic. We focus heavily on prayer, encounters with Christ in the Blessed Sacrament, and serving actively within the parishes.

The right person would be well-formed and on fire with love for the faith and for the Eucharist. Schooling and/or experience is appreciated but, for the right person, not necessary. Position is salaried at a rate similar to other like positions in our area. If you are the right person for this job, we’ve been praying for you!

About our Parish / School / Organization

We are a cluster of two parishes with 450 families in total. We are located in rural, Northern Minnesota within the Diocese of Duluth. Our parishes are nestled in beautiful Minnesota lake country and enjoy the beauty of 4 distinct seasons. We have only about 100 students in our 1-12th grade program as many of our parishioners are retired or seasonal. There is an optional 15-hour/week Secretary position that may be taken with the DRE/YM position if you have an aptitude or experience in that area. You must be very organized; experience with graphic design or editing is a major plus.
