General Description

•St. Patrick Catholic Church in Lake Forest, Illinois is seeking a motivated, energetic, well-qualified individual to fill the position of Coordinator of Youth Ministry.

•The Coordinator of Youth Ministry will plan, develop, and implement catechetical, social, community based, and service oriented programs for both Middle and High School teens. These programs consist of (but are not limited to) bi-monthly Lifenights, Fall & Spring retreats, Bible studies and special issue nights, regular service opportunities, and summer trips.

•The Coordinator of Youth Ministry is also responsible for the planning and implementation of all aspects of the high school Confirmation program, including the formation of the adult and teen small group leaders.

•The Coordinator must be well formed in the theology and spirituality of the Catholic faith and must be comfortable with sharing his/her faith with others. They are expected to have a mature spiritual life that is grounded in prayer, frequent reception of the sacraments, and personal moral behavior which could serve as a strong example to the teens.

Skills & Qualifications

•Degree in theology, religious education, pastoral ministry, or related degree is highly preferred, and candidates applying with such will be given priority

•2 – 3 years of youth ministry experience in a parish or on a diocesan level

•Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills

•Ability to work in a team environment & multi-task

•Must be able to work nights and weekends, as required
