Talks from Flame Congress - Bridget Parker

 Written by CYW.com Print

Bridget Parkers short interview with Paschal came early on in the day and can be viewed on the CYMFed site here.

Most of those attending Flame wouldn't have heard of Bridget, but in many ways she was one of the most remarkable people there.

Bridget Parker won a gold medal in the Equestrian event in 1972, an Olympic games which was remembered sadly for all the wrong reasons!

Interestingly, Bridget wasn't even meant to be part of the Equestrian team. She went to Munich as a reserve and was bumped up to the main team at the last minute. She went from reserve to Gold medalist in a matter of just hours.
