Shout to the Lord on American Idol

This is a clip of American Idol a few years ago, when the last eight competitors sang 'Shout to the Lord.' This is a great clip because it shows something very Christian being brought into an environment which is very secular.

IN THE SESSION: Perhaps it can be used as an introduction, or later on in the session as appropriate.

Jesuit Martyrs of the UCA in El Salvador

In 1989, six Jesuit priests were murdered in El Salvador by the military along with some of the local people. They were killed by the military who thought that their presence there was causing trouble.

This is quite a powerful video for this session because it reminds us that there is still persecution of Christians in the world. It also puts into perspective the difficulties we might face in living out our faith.

Remember that this is quite a shockign and difficult incident to talk about and that some might find the video a little distressing.

IN THE SESSION: A good video for reminding us that there are still difficulties in being Christians. Maybe a good video for making this point later on in the session. You might want to use all of the video, or just up until the priest starts speaking, about 3/4 through.
