"Back in February [2008], I began trying to find work in the Catholic youth sector and it was so difficult! But I typed 'Catholic youth work' randomly into Google and this website popped up. Later, a friend told me to look on the site, so it appeared to be the place to go to. It's the only UK site I've found that provides a list of UK Catholic youth work jobs. I signed up to receive the job updates by email and within a month I saw something I liked the look of, applied (literally just in time!), got shortlisted, had the interview and got the job! So now I've moved from the sunny South coast all the way up to Hexham & Newcastle diocese to take on the role as a youth ministry coordinator for a deanery up there. I'm 6 weeks into the job and still very much finding my feet (it's a brand new post), but I feel that God wants me here now and that's good enough for me. Thank you CYW!!"
[Lydia Wills] "CatholicYouthWork.com has been a fantastic resource and network. From the other side of the world, I could see upcoming vacancies in the whole of the UK. The weekly e-mail with available posts was great as it allowed me to scan the list for any new positions that were now available. Without CatholicYouthWork.com, I would not have known where to start looking for youthwork vacancies. It is an excellent site and I would thoroughly recommend it for all who are involved in youthwork or just interested in interesting Catholic discussions and resources."
[Sam, New Zealand] "I wanted to take a gap year between my A-levels and university and I had thought of working for the Church. Somebody recommended CatholicYouthWork.com to me and so I registered. I immediately saw an advert posted by a youth retreat centre who were looking for gap year volunteers. To cut a long story short, I am nearly at the end of my gap year now and I am planning to stay in Catholic youth work afterwards!"
