Rebuild my Church

There is an awesome online event happening today called
Rebuild my Church
which is about providing some online training for Youth Ministers.
Be sure to go to the site at 5pm UK time this evening!!
Here is the blurb from
the website
:
The re:Build conference was born out of a series of conversations at 2010 NCCYM between D. Scott Miller, Tony Vasinda, and Joe Mele. These conversations focused around a number of topics, but the key themes were the state of youth ministry in parishes, the conversations that needed to happen to help our field grow, and how great it would be to have a TED style event focused on Catholic youth ministry. Tony, Scott, and Joe all spent time talking with each other about these topics, but each of them were unaware until a few weeks later that this had really been a three way dialogue. After a few more emails and a couple of conference calls we settled on the rough vision for this new project.
We wanted to create and online, free, and participatory experience. We wanted to make sure that they drew from a wide and diverse cross section of voices, skills, and histories for their speakers and presenters. We wanted the presentations to be something that could be accessible for professionals or volunteers as well as challenging veterans and newcomers alike. We looked at other resources, conferences, and training projects like TED, The Nines, and many more to help the clarify the goals, focus, and format for the event.
Once all of this was done we looked at our work and noticed a very specific theme had started to emerge in our conversations. After a bit more conversation, debate, and prayer, the re:Build Online Catholic Youth Ministry Conference was born.
We are still in our infancy as a project. We have identified our speakers, brought in partners, and started to build our online presence. We will continue to grow and learn and we would love to invite you to participate in that process. Your questions, gifts, and criticism are key to us building and, of course, rebuilding this event to make it more successful. This event, at it’s core, is about supporting you, serving you, and giving you the tools you need to help rebuild your ministry in a way that represents the unique gifts present in your community.
The Foundation is firm, the Vision is present, I will re:build. I hope you will join me.
